Do the 4G63 kits fit the Eclipse, Talon, Laser or Galant VR-4?Updated 18 minutes ago
Yes. Our 4G63 Rocker Retainers fit the 1990 to 1999 6-bolt and 7-bolt 4G63 engines in these US cars. Which kit you need depends on your rocker arms, not your car.
Which cars?
- Mitsubishi Eclipse (4G63 models, 1990 to 1999)
- Eagle Talon (4G63 models, 1990 to 1998)
- Plymouth Laser (4G63 models, 1990 to 1994)
- Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 (1991 to 1992)
Which kit do I need?
- Cast rocker arms: Rocker Retainers for Evo 1 to 3 (cast rockers). Check the clearance between each clip and its lash adjuster when you install them.
- Pressed rocker arms (Mitsubishi part MD375091): Rocker Retainers for Evo 4 to 9 (pressed rockers). Many DSMs have been upgraded to this later pressed rocker.
Each kit has 16 clips, one for every rocker. You keep your factory lash adjusters. See Why do the 4G63 kits include only clips and no lash adjusters?
Not sure which rockers you have?
Cast rockers are a solid, chunky casting. Pressed rockers are formed from steel sheet. Take off the cam cover and email a photo to [email protected] with your car and year, and we'll tell you which kit you need.
What about the 3000GT VR-4 and Dodge Stealth?
Our pressed rocker clips also fit the 6G72 and 6G74 DOHC V6 with pressed rocker arms (MD375091). A V6 has 24 rockers, so email [email protected] before you order and we'll set up a custom order with 8 extra clips.
